Invites

I'm getting married next year and beginning to look into organising invitations and I was just wondering how many months before the wedding did people send out the invites?

We got married 24th June, requested for invites to be returned to us by 30th April to give us time to chase up on non-respsones. So I reckon we must have sent them around the beginning of April - which also makes it about 3 months.

sending mine out 12 months before with a second one being sent out 3 months before (1/4 of people attending are from another country so they need the time)

    both will be full invites
The only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 5

Its 'normal' to send them about 3 months before, but we have decided to send them out 10 months before. We arent sending out Save The Dates, plus our day is on a friday, so we want to give everyone as much notice as possible.

Actually traditionally invites are sent out six weeks before the wedding.

I did say ABOUT 3 months before, not exactly 3 months.

Six weeks is half three months so not really approximate at all.

Sorry if I've annoyed or upset you, it really wasn't meant as a rebuke. I merely pointed out what as far as I'm aware was the traditional time. I was engaged for only a year so find this whole idea of sending out invites way ahead very strange.

Hope everything goes well with all your arrangements.
