Faulty tv from Tesco instore?
Toughnumber
So I have a tv(Tecknika, surprise surprise!) I bought instore on the 12/02/11 and I use it for games through the vga, for the last month in order to switch scource from dtv to vga it freezes so I have to switch off and on at the plug.On top of that the left audio in is crackling so I have to take it out and just use the red audio side.Anyway I rang tesco and the guy told me all they can do is offer me a refurbished model of the same tv.I dont necesarialy want a refund but I dont mind paying extra to get a better tv.So is the same refurbished tv really my only option? I'm tempted to try my luck instore but it's quite a distance away and I'm expecting them to tell me to ring the helpline as on the reciept it says items can not be returned to store after 28days.

Well thanks for all the great advice everyone lol!Just to update rang the store, went to store, told the same thing to ring helpline because they can't replace without ref.number. so to sum it all up one visit and four phone calls including an escelation to a manager who told me a repair was all they could do so what could I do, had to accept repair and listen to a sales pitch on the quality of technika haha oh well thanks Tesco, for nothing!0

They did everything required of them, they have the option to repair, replace or refund. The choose to repair so they have done the same thing as nearly every other store out there.0

In fairness to Tesco and Technika, Ive had 2 Technika TVs for over 7 years, with out a problem.
Well, just one. The big one's picture went off but we had sound, Son in law took it to a shop he knew, near where he works, about a 40 mile round tirp, they wanted 30 quid before they even took the back off, he rang to tell me so I just told him to bring it back,
Just had to have another try, we plugged it and turned it on and it worked perfectly and has done ever since. It must hve been bored and just wanted a ride out. I presume something had worked loose and the journey must have done something to it.
But like I say, Technika has been fine for me.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
