    Absolutely. I would want to do similar for my 3 daughters. One of which is disabled so I can see her not moving away from home in a hurry! I would love for my girls to be able to say to me that they have seen a home and feel able to ask for help.

    So hard to actually get onto the property ladder with rising prices and cost of living etc. I am 36 and I am just buying a home. Been a very long very tough road to get to this point. Things will get tougher for the future generations too I am sure.

    Well,today was decision day on the mortgage and its good news :D

    The bank have agreed to lend us the rest of the money although its over a shorter term than we wanted. Bizarrely the bank's idea of affordability is to knock the term of the mortgage down to 10 years from 24 and double the repayments :think: but we have a mortgage :D:D:D

    Got my internet banking thing through today so I can move money about online. Was a bit of a faff setting it up, I am not the best technological mind! but I got there in the end.
    Planning also when we move to switch things to direct debit where we can and keep control over money that way. I tend to pay everything in cash at the moment which is ok, but we are missing DD benefits on some things (fuel for one).
    We are still throwing money into savings where we can even before the mortgage officially begins. New car is next on the list, bought outright of course ;):D

    September 2016 - Back into clearing a mortgage - Was due to be paid off in 32 years in March 2047 -
    April 2018 down to 28.00 months vs 30.04 months at normal payment.
    Predicted mortgage clearing 03/2047 - now looking at 02/2045

    Aims: 1) To pay off mortgage within 20 years - 2037

    How many years were you hoping to knock the mortgage down to? The shorter term will save you soooo much interest. Good luck.
