We were with them too and were told yesterday that they had gone bust. We fortunately have insurance so have started the ball rolling with a claim.
However, if you paid by credit card you maybe able to reclaim the money through your credit card company.
I also see that their website still looks as though it is trading so would advise against people looking/booking.
I hope you are able to book another photographer for your wedding.
Good luck with everything.0 -

Really sorry to read that you feel that I am spamming. I genuinely feel for the couples that have been affected, as I would be horrified in their situation. Luckily I have been available to help 2 of the 3 couples that contacted me.0

Usually, I do see your sort of post as spam Paul, but in light of the situation, I see your post as helping others, although it may still get pulled as you're advertising your company, which you're not allowed to do on here.0

Our wedding was the 16th July and we've just heard the news. Like most other people, we paid in full and won't be getting any pictures back..
We have been in contact with the photographer himself (I think H&D are just an agency) and I've just sent him an email asking if we can get copies of the pictures from him...0 -

Press release from Bournemouth Borough Council
For immediate release
12 August 2011
Bournemouth wedding photography business ceases trading
The Bournemouth based wedding photography business that once boasted as being ‘The largest wedding photography company in the Southwest’ ceased trading on the 4 August 2011.
Mel Bouzad, the sole owner of H and D Wedding Photography (H&D) and former Director of the Limited company contacted Bournemouth Trading Standards to advise that he was no longer trading due to financial reasons. Mr Bouzad is currently contacting a large number of clients who have not yet celebrated their wedding so they can make alternative arrangements.
Earlier this year, Trading Standards received more than 40 complaints against Mr Bouzad's businesses including, non-delivery of wedding photographs, poor-quality photographs, or failure of the photographer to turn up at all.
Trading Standards instigated an investigation under Part 8 of the Enterprise Act. Mr Bouzad cooperated with the investigation and signed a Formal Undertaking on the 7 July this year.
In the undertaking he gave binding assurances that he would refrain from contravening provisions of the Supply of Goods and Service Act 1982. Failure to comply with the undertaking would have resulted in Trading Standards taking court action. Regrettably, Mr Bouzad was unable to sustain his business.
Colston Nichols, Senior Trading Standards Officer, said: “Our sympathies are with those who may have lost their money, and with those who had their big day and might not get their wedding photos.”
Mr Nichols added: “It seems that many customers have little hope of getting their money back. However, some will have paid by a credit card or be eligible to get redress from the debit card charge back scheme. They may also have specific wedding insurance. Concerned consumers should contact Consumer Direct for more advice and guidance.”
Trading Standards officers will continue to monitor the situation and work with the insolvency practitioner and other agencies.

Wow, there have been a lot of posts removed from this thread...0

I lay some of the blame on the local Courts, Trading Standards office and many others who clearly knew of the practices of Mel bouzad but allowed him to continue to trade and ruin people's weddings - hiding behind the "data protection" act!0
