Hi all just looking for advise
Been selling on Ebay for the last few months trying to make ends meet.
I have been informed by Paypal today that although we have a 100% feedback they are refusing to release monies payed by purchasers due the 2 purchasers not leaving feedback.
Can any body firstly tell me if this is legal and secondly is there another alternative to using paypal on ebay.
thirdly ebay make it compulsory to use paypal on their account is this legal. Is there an alternative auction site to ebay.

It really sucks, I agree. You will get the money apparently 21 days after payment unless the buyer leaves feedback.

Not sure if there is anything you can doabout this, but the eBay forum has loads of people who know a lot about paypal on it.
And no, there's no realistic alternative to paypal.0 -
The reason for a temporary hold can be seen here:

Its a policy which you agree to when you sign up to paypal. You can offer other payment types on Ebay but Paypal is compulsery and popular with Buyers as it offers good protection for them. This gives them the confidence to bid good prices and buy things which in turn benefits the sellers0 -
Only real alternative is cash on collection, But that will severely limit your sales.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

You still have to offer paypal though and that leaves you open to the collection scam.forgotmyname wrote: »Only real alternative is cash on collection, But that will severely limit your sales.
OP if you send your items tracked and enter the tracking in paypal as soon as they are confirmed delivered contact paypal and your funds will be immediately released. After a while this will be removed anyway.
The reason this hold is in place is it meant that PP could bring in better buyer protection which gives buyers confidence so it all helps sales and you make more money.
There is no real alternative to ebay with the same volume of customers. You can try amazon for books or CDs but their fees are higher than ebay they also now have a hold before you receive your money.'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'
