It's a Lakeland Evenslice bread slicer. I bought it for £2.50 in my local Sue Ryder CS and only knew what it was because it was boxed. They are still sold and at £20.79 so it was a good buy as I intend to go back to baking my own when time allows.
Last week a I bought a YS Morrisons seeded loaf which was very squashy and would have been a devil to cut into anything less than a doorstep. The Evenslice allowed me to make perfect slices and I would just like to recommend it to any home breadmakers out there - but only if you see it in a charity shop of course! I don't think you would recognise it for what it is without having seen one or at least a picture, but it is well worth looking out for in my opinion.
Probably could have deserved a thread on its own, but just wanted to say if this is the two comb like thing that you put the loaf in between, you can get them on ebay for a couple of pounds brand new.

Annie - It's not that I don't think. It's like a little plastic case which opens up and folds back. There is an inner plastic bit which can be place in six different positions, giving various widths of slices. It looks a bit insubstantial and I certainly wouldn't pay full price for it, but it does the trick of providing a secure guide for slicing. It looks a bit like a spelling toy game my daughter had about 25 years ago called Speak and Spell, but is grey and not bright orange. If you google Lakeland Evenslice you will find it.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14
