first time to london

looking to visit london for the first time next week....
where abouts in london is the best area to stay in for Buckingham Palace Big Ben Tower of London etc?????
cheapest way to stay Holiday Inn etc and if so which one?????

    Premier Inn (County Hall) in Westminster is where we stay. right next to the London Eye.
  • Mind you, that Premier Inn seems to be very booked up :-(

    There's also the DAYS HOTEL on Kennington Road or you can just take a cheap bed around Victoria. Depends on your budget.

    I wouldn't worry about getting a hotel close to the "sights". The buses and Tube mean that you can pretty much stop anywhere.

    If you really aren't fussy about where you stop then Lastminute.com "secret hotels" can be good value. Other similar sites are available.

    If you could give some indication of your budget then you'd get better suggestions.
