Hi,
I reserved a tv at £699 in argos and went a fair distance into Glasgow to collect it, when I got it home I realised it didn't have the features it had quoted and further it was completely the wrong tv (an LW450 instead of an LW550) rang customer services and they said that Dunfermline (a much further distance) had it in and they reserved it for me there and i could just go in for a straight swap. UPon arrival at the store it turned out the tv i had reserved was once again the wrong tv and it appears that they had mixed up the catalogue numbers, as of today the price of the tv i wanted has now leapt up by £300 they said I could pay the extra or get a refund.
So I reserved the tv at £699, as seen on the website and instore at £699, paid for it at that price too and trekked all over the country to find one, do I have a leg to stand on if i insist that they give me the original tv I was looking for?
THe manager was very helpful and was fighting my corner with their customer services but said it is up to me if i want to take it any further. If anyone knows of any consumer rights violation I would be forever thankful!
PS i still have the reservation email as proof of price
Thanks again. Richie

As you've not completed any contract as such I can't see how your consumer rights have been violated. PITA I know but there's nothing you can do about it.0

Yeah, I had noticed in the sticky that the advertised price is merely an invitation to that price, however I felt that as I had requested a particular product and completed the transaction for that product (the LW550) I was entering into a contract at that stage?0
