Back / Forward button not working on internet explorer

hi guys turned on pc and it seems the back and forward buttons are not available for some reason .
ive checked- tools- toolbar and no option to add them i have also cleared the history and i also ran the msconfig which mcaused a failure and i had to do a system restore.
anyone know?

try hitting the Reset button on Toolbars/Settings .BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? :shocked: OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!
