Can any shower tray fit any enclosure???

Hi All
We recently ordered a shower enclosure and tray from a catalogue. Its arrived and we are happy with the glass etc but the tray has turned out to be acrylic and thought we were getting acrylic capped stone resin. Our fault really, we should have double checked. We're not that keen on the tray as it is a bit flexible and we wanted a rigid tray.
We can return it but they don't currently have a stone resin tray of that size (1500 x 900) available due to manufacturing problems to exchange it for.
My question is can we buy another tray of the same size from another supplier and will it fit the glass we already have without leaking etc?
Unfortunately as a new user I'm not able to post a link to a picture. Its a walk in shower with no door, just two glass panels with a 'flipper' hinged piece of glass that you can close once you are inside to stop the water escaping.
Thanks for all your help!

Basically yes you can. As long as it does not have any special features that match the screen.0

As far as i'm aware as long as it fits the dimensions you require then you can mix and match.
Might be worth calling and speaking to wherever you intend to buy it from and double check.
Also if you are getting someone to put it in for you they might have some advice.0 -
Thanks both, still haven't done anything about returning it yet...
My BF will fit the tray, which he's never done before so we've not got a clue really. Don't worry he's renovated the rest of the house ok so he's not totally clueless!
I might give the manufacturors a call, we've called a number of times as they want to charge a restocking fee so think they're sick of hearing from us!

They're quite entitled to either levy a restocking charge or refuse to accept it back at all-you have no legal right to return it unless it's faulty, it entirely depends on the retailer's returns policy. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

As I understand it under the Distance Selling Regulations it is illegal to impose a restocking charge, although many firms aren't aware of this, or choose to ignore it. This is regardless of what their terms and conditions state. These don't supercede the law.
However they are entitled to charge you a reasonable amount for carriage back to them - but only if it's pointed out on their web site, such as in the terms and conditions. If it's not they have to pay the cost.
They're also entitled to charge you the original carriage.
Note that you have 7 working days from the day after you receive the goods to inspect them and tell the firm you don't want them. If you leave it later than this they don't have to take the goods back unless they're faulty.0 -
I had missed the 'catalogue' bit. Correct, you can reject it under DSR as long as you are within the deadline. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
