I lived in that house for three years (1966-69) and know it inside out. It's a beautiful house.

It was on the market couple of years ago but then withdrawn.

It was a boarding school until it was bought by the current owners, maybe he was at school there?

That's right it was a boys boarding school. I'm not sure when it opened but there were only 60 students when I arrived in '66. This had more than doubled by the time I left in '69. There were kids from all around the world, a few of whom I'm still in contact with.

I was there from aged 11 'till 14 and I loved it. I explored the further reaches of the attics to the depths of the cellars (of which there were many). I never felt anything untoward ghostwise although there were rumours.

The grounds were extensive, mostly woodland, which suited us kids. The house and gardens were breathtaking and still look it.

Someone I know considered buying next door, but was worried about the neighbours. It's a gravel pit or something (on the aerial.)
