Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Please also avoid posting personally identifiable information, including links to your own online property listing which may reveal your address. I live in Loose and it is pretty expensive, but in fairness the village is a bit of a bubble because of the limited amount of housing in the village and the desirability of the area. Most of Maidstone is very reasonably priced considering the proximity to both London and the Coast.
Small world, I used to run The Chequers there0 -

We used to live very close to there until we moved back to civilisation last year (originally from Hants - hated Essex, lol!) and whilst it is considered a 'posh' area by some of the locals, generally peeps there seemed to have terrible taste and I wouldn't recommend living anywhere around there (however nice the house - and ours was Tudor with later additions) to my worst enemy, lol!Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

I've only stumbled across this thread too within the last few months and it takes up too much of my time too! :rotfl:
I spend too much time on Rightmove for a start, generally because of this thread and the places I choose are usually where I know someone...either colleagues or friends...and I'm just being downright nosey...something else that takes up too much of my time! :rotfl:Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
