Don't much like the house but love where it is.
And I thought you liked gardening?

It's at a place called Whiteworks, around 380m (1250') above sea level. You'd be distinctly limited in what you could grow there, given the exposure. I grumble about the wind at 140m!

    Spot the neighbour's wind turbine.....

Judging by the utility livestock fencing - some of the neighbours are probably sheep...

Not a bad house - but there's something nagging at me that I'm getting an overall impression of "Shoulda gone up a price level or two on what they picked for work on that house - particularly those doors out from kitchen to garden" and then it would have been a bit more "something or other (stylish is probably the word I want").

lol Not me that's hubby, don't mind working in the greenhouse though.

We are very low here but it's still fairly windy.

Wow, a 20 year duchy lease. For the privilege of having HRH as your freeholder you get to pay £420.83 per month ground rent and have an unmortgageable property to boot!

Additionally, as it is only a 20 year lease, the Leasehold Reform Act doesn't apply so you have no statutory right to extend it or buy the freehold. This means that after the 20 years they can refuse to renew the lease and kick you out of your home at no cost to them and with no comeback from you.

Mind you, technically even if the lease were longer than 20 years the act still doesn't apply because Acts of Parliament are not binding on the Duchy of Cornwall. (little bit of feudal trivia there) They do tend to follow most of them (act by analogy) but they don't have to and, indeed, have set extra stipulations to various acts including this one that would not be legal elsewhere - specifically in this case the right to refuse to sell the freehold if they don't want to.

It is more than going off grid - it is going back to the middle ages. I couldn't find a barge pole long enough to touch it.

Come on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.

The doors don't trouble me as much as the "padded cells" business. Very nice house though and a lovely situation.

The worst one used to be under Cyril Smith, but I believe things have moved on since then.....

"This former industrial building has been sympathetically converted and offers in excess of 6,000 sq ft over 3 floors"

It's been converted? Really? It doesn't look like it...
