By all means rip the rest out but I feel the need to defend the 1950s fireplace. I think it now counts as retro rather than old fashioned. Actually i think I even like the stairs.0 -

That ceiling is amazing. I don't know if it's crochet or just made to look like crochet. I'd be scared to sleep in the beds in case a statue fell over. It obviously belongs to someone who loves their home.
