i have £1000 where what should i do with it????

hi all, ive been squirreling away money in my current account for a while and have £1000 that i want to put somewhere. im pretty clueless when it comes to an isa and savings accounts etc so would really love some advice. im a single mum and i get tax creds and working tax creds as well as working so could put small amount away each month too but really want to know what sould i do with the £1000 ive no plans to use it for anything i just want a little next egg and feel its useless sitting in my current account

I'd suggesting reading this page first.
In short, fill up an easy access cash ISA (not a fixed term ISA) to maximise not paying tax on the interest accrued - currently Santander, 3.3% AER
Regular savings accounts tend to impose withdrawing restrictions (not all) so may or may not be for you...0 -
