I was only 18 when I had my first, now that really was scary, 1968, no benefits in those days, apart from tax thingys attached to OHs wages.

Same here - only I was 19 and it was 1969!! :) Aye, not even any family allowance for the first then!!!! People manage, otherwise the human race would have died off long ago!!!

as for the rogue poster, no offence taken, yes, of course contraception was used for a long time, this baby was born out of love thanks very much, its the only natural thing we have left, babies were born way way way before the queen had her head on bank notes, and i'll be dammned if the man made creation of money stops what nature designed us to do.... so put that in your pipe and smoke it :)

i have a job interview next week, how exciting..

    you'll be fine.

the jeremy kyle fodder on here can fire out kids and still manage to scrounge every benefit under the sun and end up with more disposable income than most of us unfortunate tax payers.

if you're in a 1 bed flat, it will be a bit cramped but it's not the end of the world. a good quality, comfy sofa bed can make all the difference. i flat shared and lived on one for a couple of years.

if we all waited till we could afford kids before embarking down that road, then the only ones breeding would be the scummy mummy/waynetta slob/ vikki pollards of the world.

decent folk need to breed before we end up with a nation of chavvy dole scrounging skanks!
NEVER ARGUE WITH AN IDIOT. THEY'LL DRAG YOU DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL AND BEAT YOU WITH EXPERIENCE.

and, please. only thank when appropriate. not to boost idiots egos.
