Yet he accepts their figures as proof of growth.
Hmmmm. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
I would say that housing is one of the more useful assets, and at the end of the day you never wake up and find you have any less than what you paid for.
As for my investment experience, I have tried managed funds, naked share exposure, ISAs and cash in the bank. None of them have produced much except matching inflation at best and making real losses at worst.
I wish I'd invested in gold back in the last decade, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.0 -
To be fair to Hamish, he simply posted quotes from the article and didn't give any commentary himself.0

Hmmmm.
I posted the article in it's entirety without comment.
I did then go on to note, completely accurately, that none of the three major indices are showing falling prices this month.
The fact that so many have then jumped on the Hamish-hate bandwagon says more about their insecurity than what I posted.

Try telling that to the people who (used to) live in New Orleans, or any other victims of tornadoes, hurricanes, volcanoes, earthquakes, sea erosion, floods, subsidence etc.0 -

Yes, the refusal of my insurer to cover me for volcano damage in the south of england is a worry that keeps me up most nights.0 -

Really.
Landreg was, erm, 0.
Anyway, the bulls win this months numberwang.
Shame the other shoe is dropping, the markets are in freefall and
a double dip recession is increasingly likely.
Context.
Analysis.
Gotta love it.0 -

Actually you did then note that they were all positive.
Which they were not.
A minor thing really, but it is worth pointing out that you appear to have survived without page after page of Pimperne1 et al howling about such an obvious mistake.
Just sayin'.0
