what they did was a tad harsh

i phone up for my mum to various places and speak first and they usually just get he OK first (always make sure is nearby first)

perhaps they have a lot of fraud going on with people trying to access other peoples accounts.

You think thats bad, Try talking to the council tax offices, I phoned on behalf of my FIL and explained
he had recently come out of hospital and gets confused easily and doesnt like talking on the phone at the best of times so speak
loudly, slowly and clearly for him.

I can hear him going through the security questions then he gave them his old postcode, I said thats your old house, he then gives out
his correct postcode and a few seconds later hands the phone to me. They are terminating the call because i am prompting him.

We only wanted a balance for his council tax because we could not find all his receipts. I was naughty then & pretended to be him.
I passed the main security questions but the final one was whats your current balance. Give me strength..

I had to bite my lip and explain if i knew that i wouldnt be phoning them to find out what (my) balance was.

They will use any reason to stop you cancelling the contract, and having your son try and do it is one.
