France recommendations

I am interested in visiting france but have never been before, and have no idea where is suitable for children aswell as adults!
Anyone been anywhere they would recommend?
OR any sites i can look at for ideas?

My children will be 6 and 4 so would like to be near beaches and child friendly places.
I am mainly wanting to go as i have a love for french things but unfortunately mummy can`t go alone :D

That's a big question! Substitute Britain for France and you will see what I mean. How do you intend to travel, how far and for how long? What type of accommodation will you need? - camping, self-catering, B&B, hotels? Brittany is good for beaches (and children) but the weather isn't always sunny. Try 'googling' France +children and see what happens!
