Decathlon actually have a fairly good range of stuff, but not many stores. Evans too but their stuff is more expensive.0 -

Look for their own brand DHB, they score highly and by chance I threw a pair of DHBs in the wheely bin earlier today after 3yrs of hard use.
They wore through at the toe due to the rotation of my foot after 10000 miles.......the sole was untouched.
If you can find a pair of Shimano AM50s then these are my current shoe of choice. Utterly comfortable but built like military equipment and quite good to walk in as well.
I've just spent the last 10 days cycling in France wearing Exustar SPD sandals which were excellent and only became obviously SPD when walking over cobbles when they 'clicked' on the stone.0 -
If by 'best' you mean cheapest, Aldi/Lidl do these every now and again when they have a cycling week cleat is recessed into shoe which looks like a normal trainer.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

I have a pair of DHB shoes from Wiggle and would recommend them.
I wouldn't buy other footwear online so not sure why I was happy to get cycling shoes online. Bigger bike shops will have shoes, as you probably know, but on my casual glances in a few shops they are mostly racing style shoes with exposed cleats.0 -

I've been using Lidl SPD shoes for over 3 years (on my second pair). They may not last as long as the more expensive brands but they do last me for a couple of years of regular commuter cycling and for £10-£15 a pair you can't complain.
Unfortunately you can only buy them for about a week every six months or so...Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon

I'm another along with a colleague wearing DHB shoes, would recommend them. Long lasting and quality at a good price.0
