Hello everyone. It's good to see such a forum. I think I finally found a place where I will be able to find answers to all my questions... but at first the car loan. Here it is:

I am interested in a loan I would like to use to buy a second-hand car. The amount I am interested in is approximately 22000 GBP.

Could you please recommend any financial companies?

I think your only option is to wait it out a few months.

Why do you need to spend £22k on a second hand car that you cannot currently afford?

You would rather borrow than tighten your belt for what is effectively 4 months????

I pity any employees of your business.

    Xmas Saver!
Well done in moving to the country and starting a business that allows you to remove £6,500 per month as a directors salary within 5 months............If your that business minded, I'm sure you won't have any issue with saving the money, rather than frittering it away.....BUt your probably workign every hour god sends to get the business up and running so you don't have time to fritter....???
  • Thanks everyone for a big dose of irony and ridicule.

To be fair he didnt say it was a banger, just a second hand car, surely you can work out that some cars fetch money up to hundreds of thousands for pre owned ?

When did you last look at a car dealership or auto trader ;)

Couple of details about my situation: I have moved to UK in March 2011 and at that time I have opened a Ltd and received a director's income. I could wait half a year and get the car without a loan, but I must admit I am not great with saving up money. Either I get a loan or I will start spending money around. ;)

I suspect, because I was not living in UK for more than 2 years and because of having no prior credit history, I am not a great candidate for obtaining a loan in a first better bank. Could you please recommend any financial companies, that are more tolerable for people like me?

You are correct - getting a loan, especially for that amount, is unlikely. My advise is, if you are on director wages, is buy a cheap (£1k) car for the 6 months it takes to save up, or lease a cheap car.

If you dont have the discipline to save for the car, why do you think you will have the discipline to pay off a loan?
