Just a quick note to make (mainly elderly) people aware of scam calls from abroad(Indian accents) from people claiming to be from the TPS.
One called my elderly Mother asking for £59.00 to install TPS to prevent Telephone Marketeers(a double bluff if ever Ive seen one!).
Luckily i was there and she didnt give any bank details.
Please note that this is a FREE service.

just logged in to register my work number and its still logged even though the cold calls have started again mainly from telephone companies trying to save me money
anyway home page top right and they are warning of what you say Inforapennyinforapound so good advice you give in my opinion0 -
The TPS is becoming more and more ineffectual. It has no control over calls from abroad and so many UK "scammers" are ignoring it that they really can't do much about it.
The "answer" is an answer machine; if you don't recognise the number calling, let it go to the answer machine. If it is sales/scam, they will hang up, if it is genuine and they start to leave a message you can pick it up.0 -
OP I would rename your thread as it sounds like you're warning people off the TPS when in fact you're telling people about scammers pretending to be the TPS'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'
