Booked 2 flights today for a total of £303 for 2 weeks in Nov

These was the cheapest morning flights i could find. But i could have booked them 7 days ago for £283

but never mind i still feel i got a bargain

I have flown with BA Connect before from man - tfs and found them to be a good budjet service airline.

I'm not that botherd about a drink on the plane early in a morning and i tke my own bacon butties with me. Not because i'm tight, but because hubby doesn't like butter on his bread.

Thanks for all your help people.

Sam is correct. ba.com is the cheapest way to buy BA flights.

unless things have changed in the last few days, this is wrong.

I booked BA flights to Tenerife last week with onlinetravel.co.uk - the flights were cheaper than on the BA site. They were also £50 cheaper than my sister could get them for (sis works for airmiles who claim to be able to get BA flights the cheapest).

    shop around!

*edited to include that we paid £306 for 3 adults + infant return in Feb

ba.com does have a price promise on the fare quote page guaranteeing the cheapest price. As they've now done away with agent commission it would be very hard for any other website to beat the BA.com fares unless they have access to dealt or IT fares which they should not be selling direct to the public.

Generally the ba.com fares should be unbeatable but I think you can get a further 10% of ba.com fares if you're a shareholder or if you are friends with a BA staffmember and can get them to book you a staff hotline ;)

obviously they're not unbeatable though are they? As the price I got proves.

also, they have a promise on their website promising to match anyone that's cheaper - if they were ALWAYS the cheapest that wouldn't be there would it?!

I just think people need to be made aware that cheaper prices CAN be found rather than telling everyone that BA are THE cheapest for their own flights, when clearly they are not.
  • !!!!!!,

BA obviously cannot stop an individual agent undercutting the RRP (thereby losing money on the sale, which is why it isn't common). Some tour operators block-book seats and may therefore offer last minute discounts simply to fill the seat - they're better off selling it for something than leaving it empty and getting nothing.

Did you also buy any accomodation, car hire, excursions etc at the same time, as the agent will likely offer you a bundled price that beats flights only?

The fact that the price promise exists surely means ba.com will always be the cheapest (excluding the above)?

  • We travelled with BA last summer (2006) LGW - TFS and they had a full service on board. All meals and drinks are free including alcohol and the cabin crew were really nice and gave me another drink whenever I asked. We returned with FlyGlobespan who were fine because we got the flights so cheap. I think we paid about 39 euro's each to return on 29th August. No meal or complimentary drinks, but I'm not complaining!

Travelling with BA them again this summer out to Gran Canaria 1st August and back from Tenerife 5th September. Total: £500.20 for 2 adults & 3 kids (2 of them are charged at adult rate). I booked these flights as soon as they were released direct with BA..... bargain or what!

Have also been with Excel Airways and they were awful. We paid £1500 for flights because the times were nice ie. in the afternoon and then they changed them so on ou return, we ended up arriving at LGW at 3am. Could have got flights much cheaper if we'd wanted that sort of time in the first place.

Also used MyTravel, from Southampton. Their service was fine but sadly they no longer operate from S'ton.

I could not find any web site offering cheaper flights than BA and with their price promise, at least you don't have to worry if you do!

Good things come to those who wait......... but the best will be taken by those who got there first ;)

Hi, I bought nothing else from them. Booked the flights and accommodation seperately. my sister who works at Air Miles was surprised too, as even with her discount she couldn't get it any cheaper.

I totally get what you're saying but wouldn't want everyone to think that they they can just go to BA direct for flights and get the cheapest when that may not be the case. Especially people on a moneysaving website!

GB Airways do sell seats on their flights to other agents, so always search for cheaper prices than ba.com. The downside is that you won't get a reference number to check in online or at an airport kiosk. Done this on LGW-LPA and LGW-IBZ flights.
