Which Estate Agents? anyone used online estate agents to sell property?

Hi,

I am selling a property which is empty and need to sell asap as I cannot afford the mortgage anymore.

I had it on the market with one EA for a few weeks but they are not making an effort...I even had to take all the photos myself!!

There is no equity in the property I just want to break even so I need to keep my fees as low as I can. I have been looking at online EA's and wondered if they are any good or a waste of money??

Failing that can anyone recommend a quality estate agent covering worcestershire?

Many thanks

have a look for cheapmove online estate agent comparison website cheapmove.co.uk

I would never ever use a traditional high street ever again after they shafted me.

I used Hatched after being quoted ridiculous fees by the local agents and sold within a week to a near neighbour who saw the sign in the garden. So maybe I was just lucky but was glad not to be paying anymore in agent fees.

The photos they took were pretty reasonable and they were quick to answer queries by phone or email. They act as intermediaries between you and the buyers not as sales people. This makes them nicer to deal with but probably not as good at pushing a higher price from buyers as a traditional agent.

Personally, I think a good agent will be more likely to sell a house more quickly and possibly for more and thereby earn their fees. Problem is finding a good agent! Many don't seem to do much more than put properties on Rightmove and in their window and if that's the case might as well go with one of the online agencies.

Also depends on your target buyers. I imagine most younger would be buyers will find your house if it's on Rightmove. My parents on the other hand are currently looking at moving and are mainly viewing properties they see in agents windows (although they are also using Rightmove when they can remember where to find it!)

    Good luck whatever you decide.

Yes, but why would anyone want to place their property on a website that's only been in existence since March?

Doesn't exactly suggest you have a great track record, does it?

Me thinks Mr or Mrs Atkinson has a vested interest in this site, as their only 2 posts here have recommended it. Naughty - advertising is against forum rules don't ya know!
