How much to rewire a kitchen

How much should it cost to rewire a kitchen? Basically all wall sockets are too low so they need to be moved up, and isntall power and switch cables for 3 under cupboard lights, power cables for fridge, washing machine, dish washer, cooker, hob and extractor, fire alarm.

Thanks.

No-one got an idea of the rough cost? I'm in the Surrey/Hants/Sussex area.

get a quote or 2 and you could always wire it yourself but get the electrision to conect to mains and sockets it will save cash as rageling takes time
    .
If you want to get with me there's some things you got to know,
I like my beats fast and my base down low

  • I would suggest a cost of £35 PER item

    eg

    4 double sockets
    1 light switch
    3 light connection points
    3 appliances
    3 appliance switches

    14 items @ £35 = £490

This is a reasonable price as a kitchen is a fair amount of the house electrical system

Thanks. Local quotes are twice that amount, and I suspected they were very high.

  • Remember you are looking at

    3 under cupboard lights £105.00
    1 Light switch £35.00
    fridge switch and socket £70.00
Washing m/c switch and socket £70.00
    Cooker switch and socket £70.00
    Dishwashwer switch and socket £70.00
    Hob switch and socket £70.00
Extractor switch and fan £120.00 (fan is £70.00 at 60l/sec)
    Smoke / Heat alarm £35.00
    4 double sockets £140.00

    Total £785.00

This price takes into account your appliance isolators (your not really meant to have sockets in cupboards as they are not truly acessible)
The fan could be cheaper if you need less extraction flow rate

Thanks again. Looks like what I am paying is not quite so unreasonable. Unfortunately I had to find someone who could do electrics, plastering and boiler, and project manage the lot.
