    Well done on the balances coming down :)
    Oh I could do with some 37d heat...
  • heheh thanks! £200 seems completely insignificant when i look at the £19000 total... but every little helps, eh! :)

    the 36 degrees disappeared soon enough and it's gone back to being cold and rainy again so you're not missing anything here! :o

    Aww it actually turned out quite nice in Glasgow today, nice enough to hang the washing out anyway :)
  • i appear to have a phobia of listing items on ebay. i must have taken 1000 photos of the same item and re-written the description hundreds of times, over about a week. i've finally got as far as previewing my ad... but i can't bring myself to press the "place listing" button! why is this so terrifying?!

    ok here goes. i'm gonna do this.

    <deep breath>

    done! i did it! i posted my first item on ebay! woohooo long may it continue!! off to add some more...

  • i'm visiting home and having a very busy 10 days seeing all my friends, celebrating my mum's birthday, having my phd graduation, and selling all the junk i've stored in my mum's house over the past 10 years. ebay adding didn't go too well and i only added two items... but i did a car boot on sunday and made £96.60! i only sold about 5% of all the junk i have so i'll do another one or two sales next week before going back. will try and squeeze in some ebay items too.

    yesterday i saw three of my friends and having budgeted my proverbial off i ended up not paying a penny as my generous friends treated me to lunch AND dinner :heart2: not only that but my friend was going to give a load of clothes to charity but told me to try them on and loads of them were really nice so i got a bag full of clothes too!

    i finally confessed to my mum about having accidentally spent £300 of a generous present she gave me which had came with strict instructions to be used only for a deposit on a house or a wedding - somehow telling her about that was so much more of a relief than telling her about my enormous debts! i only have £30 left to pay back from the £300 so after that i can start some serious snowballing :)

  • woohoooo i've finished paying off the £300!!!!!! :j closed an ancient savings account today that i'd forgotten about several times, kept meaning to do something about it for years and years but never got round to it... now i've finally sorted it out and got a whopping(!) £56! it's gone straight into my debts - £35 towards the final bit of the £300 from my mum (i added some interest for good measure), and £20 as the first snowball thrown at the credit card with the most hideous interest rate :) (i kept £1 in my purse for this week...!)

    i've never managed to pay off a debt without creating a debt elsewhere before! it was only small but feels amazing :):)

    (if anyone reading this reads the £10 a day thread, sorry for the repetition! thought i'd put it in my diary too so everything's in one place for when i read back over it later!)
