Hotel in Orlando help

Hi - looking for advice from those who have been to Orlando. I'm flying out for five days in January and am looking for a hotel that is perhaps on the shuttle service to Seaworld, that's near or within walking distance to a shopping mall and somewhere I can eat out. I'm taking a trip up to Crystal River to swim with manatees and the company will do a pick up from whatever hotel I stay in. The last time I was in Orlando I stayed at the Peabody but I'm looking for somewhere slightly cheaper than that! Many thanks.

hi alyth - any of the hotels on international drive will be on the i-drive trolley route and will drop you off in the sea world car park, nearer to the entrance than you can park your car anyway - we have also stayed at hilton grand vacation club at sea world, which was within walking distance (ok on the way, but tiring after a day in the park) but was through timeshare and not sure of the prices.
The trolley also runs round to the premium outlet mall at one end of the route and prime outlets which used to be belz at the other end, both are brilliant shopping centres and there are loads of places to eat out. you'd probably be best to try for the sea world end of i-drive though as they were building loads of new restaurants there last time we visited (2009) and the aquatica water park had just opened too.
think you can buy day passes and week passes to save you paying every trip - have a look at the www.iridetrolley.com page and check out the marker map - shows you the route and where all the hotels are.
hope you have a great time - wherever you stay!
