HELLP!!! How do I put an mp3 file on CD to play on a non-mp3 player please?

This is legal.

I have downloaded a music file which is in mp3 format. I want to transfer it to a CD so I can play it on my mini hi-fi cd player, which is just a basic player with none of this mp3 stuff on it etc.

Could anyone please help me out and give me an "idiot's guide" pretty please? I used Nero but when I put it into my cd player (hi-fi) it stated that there was no disc in there. I presume it has to be recoded or something like that

right click it, click add to burn list, media player will open, click the burn tab, your file will be listed with a tick in the box next to it. Then click burn and bobs yer uncle.

That works obviously if you have Media Player 10 upwards and a CD burner.

If you're using Nero, use the 'Wizard' option & choose 'audio CD' - it will convert from mp3 automatically.

Unfortunately it hasn't worked. I put it into my hi-fi (once burned) and the hi-fi still says "no disc"

It burns onto the disc, because I played it in my dvd player, but it won't play on my damn cd player

Any more ideas please? I must be doing something wrong

    Done that .... also didn't work!
  • Check the properties of a song on the CD by right clicking on it.

Does is still show as .mp3 or as .wav or something else?

It may well be that your CD player won't play CD-Rs (i.e. Audio CDs "burnt" on a PC).

Are you absolutely sure you made an Audio CD? Does your DVD player play the disc as an audio CD, or does it show up as an MP3?
Of course, I may just be talking b****cks!

    Maybe your hi-fi doesn't play cd-r or cd-rw
try playing it on your computer to see if it has copied.

It does play on my computer, so it has definitely copied.

Oh, so it could be my hi-fi then? Damn I thought it played them.
