nero 7 premium reloaded

Options
Ive purchased this software(£30 in pc world)recently ,and i cant burn dvd's.

I go through all the set up ,know how it works but i just keep getting either this disc is not writeable, when im putting in a new blank dvd-r,or it transcodes and and just spits disc out and gives me a fail.

Ive been on the nero site and thats not really helping.

Even after i switch it off,the drive is going at a high rate, doing nothing!

Sorry if this has been posted already.

Is this a common problem,or is there just something im missing somewhere.

    I click make dvd>import file>add title>set speed(left that default)burn.

Why does it not give you a insert disc command like it does with a cd?

    I can burn them.

    Any help much appreciated ta:D
  • have you previously ever burned a dvd before or is this your first time?

can the drive drive read other dvds or can it burn cds?

just asking this becuase if you take the disc out your drive really shouldnt still be goignt at a high rate. i was thinkin maybe a drive fault.

obviously could be nero fault. for exmpale my nero burning rom stopped workng and its only recently i reinstalled nero but it works fine. have you tried reinstalling??

Are you trying to burn a video dvd, or a dvd containing data files (pictures, mp3s and the like)?

You mentioned something about transcoding so I would guess it's video. If so, what type of video file is it? If it's an AVI or MPG file Nero would need to convert it to a standard dvd format first before it could be burned.

It might be worth getting a dvd-rw disk which is rewritable, so at least you're not wasting blank disks in the meantime.

Nero 7 will give you the option of saving a log file either upon success or failure - posting the log file could give us a clue. If you post it to the whole forum (it will be very long) be sure to blank out your serial number details. Otherwise PM it to me (again blanking out your serial number details) I'll see if I can spot the problem.
