Be weird if the temporary manager can fulfill Abramo's dream ;)

Champions League is not the same as the glory days of the European Cup. When it was a straight 2 leg knock out.

Now the group stages are fixed with seeded teams avoiding each other. Along with teams from the same country.

I find Champions League about as interesting as the tyre strategy in F1. Where races are decided on wheel changes not the ability of a guy to keep racing solidly for 90 minutes.

Why not? it has the top 3/4 from all major nations, question, how many teams have won 'Ole BigEars' back to back in the past 20 years? How many achieved that before then? Hell, even Forest and Liverpool did that in the old days :)

Still trying to understand how Bayern Munich are 8 points behind in 2nd place in the Bundesliga

They look a really good team, and I'd expect them to defeat any English Premier League team over 2 legs.

On the Champions League front, I think that the fact that teams such as Porto and Liverpool have won the thing in the last decade, when they were clearly not the best teams in Europe (in Liverpools case, not even one of the best 4 teams in England that year ) does open the question as to whether the current format always finds the best team every year.

Of course, the format is fairer than the lottery of a knockout Cup, but the amount of games required (as well as those in their own leagues) makes it a marathon and not necessarily suited to throughbreds.

You can't doubt that Barca are a better team than Chelsea, but it was Chelsea who responded better when both teams were clearly knackered and nearly on their knees.

All you can say is that the best teams in Europe are in there, that wasn't always the case in the past.

So you are a Newcastle United player, what is more important, trying to finish top 4 to qualify for CL next season or seeing Utd lose the championship :)
    I think....

    Good quality league.

Premier league is full of very average players and teams.
