Postage refund?

I wondered if any one could help me with my consumer rights. I ordered something from a website, it did not arrive when they said it was so after hassling them they sent a tracking number, which said it was at the local sorting office after phoning numerous times and going there several times they said that they could not find the parcel. A few months later the parcel was found and returned to the internet company who then refunded the money minus the £10 inital postage cost- surely they should give me a full refund? I have emailed them and they are now ignoring my emails. Any suggestions- should I write it off?

The simplest thing to do is to write it off.

Contractually (IMHO, and IANAL) they should refund the postage costs too as they (or in this case their agents) did not fulfil the full terms of the contract. Whether they then claim back from the agent (courier) is their problem, not yours.

That's as I see it, but these are only my opinions and do not confer what your legal rights are.
  • Thats what i thought- its not that I desperately need the £10 but it's the principle!

You can reject under DSR (even if it hasn't arrived) which entitles you to your postage back. Check the stickies at the top of the page for more info :)
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.
