Cost for redecorating a flat?

We've got a 2 bed flat that we're looking to rent out, but it needs redecorating - any idea on a ball park figure for a quote?
It's two bed, with a lounge, small kitchen and small bathroom. We're looking to have the carpets replaced throughout and magnolia on all the walls - ready for renting. Might also look to replace the bathroom with a basic white suite (currently green!).
The flat is in Worcestershire (Kiddi).

Im not in the same area : but a cheap bathroom may cost you from a couple of hundred upwards fitting price you can check here : http://checkyourprice.co.uk/bathroom-installation-cost/index.php

Carpeting costs from £2.99 per sqr metere : fitting costs here : http://www.freeindex.co.uk/categories/property_and_tradesmen/property_maintenance/carpet_fitter/

Painting a 2 bed flat would take I pressume 1 man a couple of days at the most so if you look in your local paper you may get that done for a couple of hundred pounds.

if you can get it done for £200 then you've got a bargain , that works out at on average £40 per room ,are materials included in that ? otherwise you'd be working at a loss

i would have thought 4 daysand nearer £600 would be a bit more realistic

You could paint the walls, ceiling and woodwork (2 coats on each) of a 2 bed flat in a couple of days?! Good luck to you! Current rates are about £100-£120 per day and a conservative estimate would be 5 days, so the suggestion of £600 is far nearer the mark. Oh, and materials on top of that.

If its only a case of paying the labour a 2 bedroom flat shouldnt take more than a couple of days, I would say 3 at the most so £300.00 would get you a decent painter and materials maybe another £100.00, I read the post as painting magnolia and took it to be walls and ceilings only, thats why I said 2 days and a couple of hundred quid !

Well it won't be a decent job without doing the skirting, door frames and doors too. My partner is a professional painter & decorator with 30 years' experience and there's absolutely no way on earth he could do a 2 bed flat in 2 days. Maybe call in the 60 minute makover team on TV :rotfl::rotfl:

It could be a recent new build property and therefore just need a lick of paint, also the skirting boards, doors and door frames could all be a to wood finish for all you and I know, so my figure of a couple of hundred in the initial post could be 2-3 hundred pound and as I have said already and will say yet again read there post and it clearly states magnolia on the walls and that is what I answered against not a complete paint job and whole house renovation as you guys seem to put it !

The best thing to do is to get a couple of local quotes and then see how much work needs to be done or how little, it also depends on which part of the country you live in aswell:)

the op states that the flat needs redecorating with magnolia on the walls , that suggests that ceilings alls and woodwork need doing otherwise the op would have just said the walls need painting

With all due respect, you're making a lot of assumptions and even a "lick of magnolia on the walls" will mean white ceilings, satinwood on all woodwork PLUS the 2 coats of magnolia on walls (any decorator worth his salt knows that one-coat stuff is complete nonsense). But if you fancy quoting the entire flat for £200 and reckon you'd do it in 2 days I'd tender for the job mate, you'll get it ;)
