You would not believe this!
Where i work - i had a customer come to query some paypal payments on his account, they were all wii payments for no less than £250 - some hitting over £300. I asked him where he got them from, he said got a load off Amazon Germany before they stopped shipping and is going into mainland France every weekend and purchasing 30 Wiis and putting them in his car and driving back.
And yes i did tell him that he was wrong making money off people desperate for a wii but he didnt seem at all bothered.
Please explain why you feel this is wrong? There is a severe shortage of Wii's in the UK. Nobody in the UK can buy from Amazon.de now and it would be a very expensive exercise to travel to France yourself to buy one.
It is morally wrong for people to buy Wii's in the UK for the RRP and then sell them on at a profit. But I'd say this chap is just being an entrepeneur whilst at the same time providing much-needed Wii's in a time of shortage. It's not as though the Wii's he is selling would otherwise have ended up in the UK for purchase at the RRP.
I understand the frustration of the current Wii shortage. And by all means criticise sellers who are reselling UK stock at inflated prices. But please don't blame people who have spotted the potential to earn money by importing a much-needed product into a country with severe shortage.0 -
