I know nothing about these things so sorry if I am coming across as dense but 3 kids desperately want one for christmas.

I have seen 1 on ebay not far from me and can be paid for on collection.
Its says its PAL and comes with a UK adaptor. Is this a normal wii or will I have problems if I have to use an adaptor?

    Many thanks.

    It will be fine.

The seller most likely bought it from somewhere in europe, (amazon.de & amazon.fr were the 2 popular sites) but they no longer ship to the UK.

They are the same as UK models apart from the 2 pin plug, so aslong as you have a 2 pin to 3 pin convertor then it will work fine.

  • Just to follow up, just been on e bay looking at prices of the games i wouldn't want and would roughly make about £50 back. Would end up spending £209 for sports pack and mario - better than stressing continually
Will uppdate if and when i get it..........fingers continually crossed
    Hillsy;)

I am a regular reader of these boards but don't usually post, however from tips on here I managed to preorder the Nintendo Wii 2007 from Amazon on Thursday morning and I have just received notice that it has been dispatched.

Many, many thanks for the person who posted that link - I will now have very happy children come Christmas morning.

    Cheers!

I ordered through that link also but I didn't have much faith in it working really. I just checked my account and the delivery date is estimated as the 28th November :j
  • Regarding the HMV orders on Thursday - I ordered one as soon as it popped up on the stock checker, and I received an email on Friday evening to say that it had been dispatached and to expect delivery within 2-5 days. Maybe I was just lucky if nobody else seems to have heard?

Has anyone had a problem getting a refund from Viking-Direct?
They called my friend to say that she shouldn't have been able to place the order for the wii Play. That didn't stop them taking her money and when she called them after checking her account they said they would 'try' to refund her!!!

Does anyone know whether the remote controller and the nunchuck from USA will work with UK Wii's? Thanks

I think you were one of the lucky ones. I just checked with my bro, he ordered from HMV on thursday and his order status has changed this morning from 'on special order from our suppliers' to 'to nbe ordered from our supplier'.

Sounds like a step backwards and not very promising. He is still looking for another option then cancel HMV.

Should do with no problem, it's not like they are voltage specific.

If you get it as wii play it may not work (the wii play not the controller) as the diskcs are region coded.
