who is up for a video of the wife snoring on the sofa, even though you furiously denies that she does not..?
Post it to youtube in the next half hour and I'll pledge the wii I got earlier this evening to you for RRP.0 -
you have to wonder if the people who just pay the rip off prices have got it right, the amount of time that I have spent in front of the screen for £70 saving/premium if you divide that by the number of hours.
I could have flipped burgers in the local McDonalds and been sound asleep had a wii ,a few pounds in my pocket and a new flick knife just like the rest of the yoof in the UK0 -

It's what i ended up doing. Peace of mind is a great thing.0 -
For all those that haven't got one yet, here's hope. A few days ago I sent an email to Nintendo asking why it was impossible to get a wii in shops and online in UK, yet if I lived in any other country I would be able to get them no problem. I have just had an e-mail back, here it is:
Dear Customer, thank you for your e-mail.
Nintendo is working at its maximum production level to supply as many Wii hardware units as possible during the busy Christmas period.
The demand for Wii hardware globally has been unprecedented and higher than Nintendo could ever have anticipated. Nintendo are now in a position in which seasonality demand trends are being broken, therefore the demand for Wii hardware is constant throughout the whole year globally. Due to this phenomenon it is possible that the demand for Wii hardware may outstrip supply.
As an indicator of the commitment to ensure stock reaches the market to meet demand, Nintendo have continually been increasing its annual Wii hardware shipment forecasts throughout the year. For the fiscal year beginning 1st April 2007 and ending 31st March 2008 Nintendo have raised their annual shipment forecast for Wii hardware by a total of 3.5 million units globally, Nintendo now plans to ship 17.5 million Wii units globally, versus the 14 million units initially planned in April 2007.
Production levels for Wii hardware are also at the highest they have ever been, with a maximum production capability of 1.8 million units globally per month.
We are doing everything possible to supply continued levels of stock and meet demand as quickly as possible. Unfortunately we do not have any information on delivery dates or which stores will get the bulk of these deliveries, however larger store chains in towns and cities will receive the most.
Kind regards,
Your Nintendo Team
I doubt we'll see as much of these as we hope. Most will go to the US where its as hard to get a Wii as it is here. If you're going to get one at RRP before christmas, the next week and half is probably your best chance. After that the unprepared parents hit the streets, be very hard to get one then.

We are not very high on Nintendos list of priorities and why should we be we have never really bought anything they have made since the snes.0 -
Sorry didn't no there was a shortage when I got mine over a month ago. Hit the queue at toys r us right. They wer expecting a delivery at the end of the week and if we queue up we got a ticket at 7am to buy their package at 9am.
Arrived at 6.30am on a sat morn some people had been there over an hour cause they had been told 6.00am. Luckly for me the que was only about 14.
I walked away with a six game bundle for £249.99 - and an extra ticket but no one I contacted wanted it - dam shud have got it and put it on ebay.
Sorry now gloating
But on the down side will have to return my Bindez as poison!0 -

- Christmas Companion - EA Playground (Wii)
Why not add a fantastic collection of mini-games to your new Wii underneath the tree with EA Playground ? With great games including Dodgeball, Slot Car Racing and Wall Ball there's loads of fun for the family this Christmas.
Try telling them we can't get the wii's in the first place0 - Christmas Companion - EA Playground (Wii)

With 250 million people in the USA and a supply shortage, it's obvious where the majority of production will go in the run up to Xmas.
No company would dare to upset the games crazy US market. Would be business suicide.0 -

My brother who lives in Canada is having exactly the same problem and most US stores will ship to Canada. Seems to be the same all over.0
