My Virgin order still says backordered, which I suppose is better than having it cancelled! Will be calling them again this afternoon so will post and update

I think it is just Game stores in general. If you phone up or go into one at about 9am they will know if they are getting any delivered that day. I think that some will reserve one for you, or you may have to get there first - it depends on the store (I don't think they are supposed to reserve them for you, but my local store did!).0 -
GAME store in Ards Shopping Centre County Down had 9 left today at 3.00pm.
I rang and they held it for a half hour for me.0 -

Hmmm.. this is interesting - seeing this I went over to PPD where I have had Wii Play + extra controller on order since 3/1. It was showing as in stock but my back order still as awaiting stock from supplier so I rang them and she said it was a mistake that any Wii items were showing as in stock as they have been unable to obtain any for ages and the IT dept were currently working on it!?? Sounds very strange to me!0 -
I ordered on Thursday afternoon and got my Wii today. I've been checking on amazon.de for a couple of weeks since reading it here, and when I saw that the status changed I placed an order.
Cheers!0 -

Slightly off topic (I apologise) but ....

I think I am lucky enough to be on a waiting list. Now I`m a newbie to any games console but this one looks FUN. I am a 59 year old granny and could do with some help. Do I need anything else besides the wii sports in order for me and my dh to play together0

If you want to play boxing against each other, you'll need another Nunchuk. And if you can get your hands on "Wii Play" it'll get you another game (9 basic games to teach you differernt moves etc of the remote) as well as a 2nd remote.
You can buy the remote on it's own, but they're approx £30, whereas WiiPlay is about £30-£35 depending where you can get it (and IF you can get it!). Nunchuks are about £12-16 I think....with HMV having it cheapest but I don't think they're in stock... There's another thread floating about with WiiPlay/nunchuk availability... try your local argos (check stock in store not online for collection):rotfl:0 -
Oops... forgot to say, even if you dont want to play boxing, then still deffo get another remote for 2 player games.:rotfl:0
