Hi Charlie,
PCWorld normally have the Nunchuks and Classic controllers in stock (in their stores) - just reserve online and go pick it up. Price is £12.99 each if reserved, otherwise £14.99. Search PCWorld website using stock code 321218 to find it.0 -
gromituk wrote:Yes, if all that appeals to you is over-egged shoot-'em-ups then you will be disappointed, because the Wii is different. But if you're that kind of customer you'll know that anyway. If you prefer quirkiness, charm and gameplay then you will love it.So this extra-cost "real motion sensor controller" works a lot better than the Wii's one does it?
Calm down. I only made the comment to try to be helpful because I almost got one myself. I think Nintendo are great and should be applauded for their innovative approach to gaming. Long may it continue. I was just making the point that the technology used to achieve this innovation will be found to be disappointing by people that are semi-regular gamers (and I am not talking about hard-core FPS gamers as you suggest). My nephews love it because they don't care if the Wii sometimes loses where the remote is when they swing it back for a golf shot, they just think it's great fun.
In answer to your question, yes it will be better than the Wii controller because it will not rely on line-of-sight to detect it's position. Also, I say "real motion sensor" because it will sense every motion in every direction rather than just movement relative to the console. This will ,for example, allow you to put back/top spin on tennis shots because it would sense the twist of your wrist as well as the swing.

Argos at Leeds White Rose centre has one, it is currently reserved by me but I found one closer to home so I don't need it now.
Reservation number is 110718 only valid Tuesday 29th May.
Also if you buy a game there is £10 off.
Please post to say you are going for it so no-one else does. They are open until 8pm.
My Wii is calling. Bye0 -

I was thinking of advertising it in the local paper, but would it be taking the p**s to advertise it at the retail price? (I actually paid more for it when it go it, due to the shortages)
I'm in the same position (see few posts up) but no biters for mine for £170, but our local paper is pretty local, and Cambridge Evening News don't seem to have a classifieds section to get a bigger audience. I'm guessing in local papers you don't get the Internet hype/desperation that builds up on eBay or threads like these so people look at it and say 'I could get a new one for £10 more'.
Still considering the eBay option but too snowed under at moment to get pictures together etc and haven't used eBay for selling before - rather just have a quick & easy sale just like the good ol' days - hand over goods in lunch hour/collect cash0 -
