We nearly had one, we had it in the shopping cart but dithered about so much we lost it! Problem is we desperately wanted one for the weekend (Daughters birthday) and had hoped some shops might get stock. By the time we decided it was better to buy from Amazon and be sure to at least get one next week it was too late.

According to my source there will be a big batch hitting independent retailers on Wednesday or Thursday.
The popular theory among retailers is that Nintendo have been holding onto stock until after their financial year ended on 30th March, so they can boost next year's sales figures. This is because they have already massively exceeded their sales targets for the last financial year.0 -
Does Gamestation count as an independant retailer?
Reserved mine last Saturday, but they are being very cagey on how long I will wait.....0 -
Apparently the reason for the delay was due to a change in the dvd drive to combat mod chips. This meant they had to pause the manufacturing process to implement the changes. Fingers crossed we will see the new batch in stores this week!0

Anyone wanting a Wii, there's a VERY high chance all GAME stores will get a delivery tomorrow, we've been told we'll all get delivery this week, and customer services are saying "early this week" (mon/tues), call your nearest stores at 9am to check, chance it won't be tomorrow, if it is, get there fast!~*Cerenia*~

Except, of course, that the modchips still work on the new drives...
http://www.wiikey.cn/news.htmlWiikey 100% compatible with new Wii motherboard!
A new revision of the Wii motherboard has appeared in some Asian countries. It does not have all the solder points required to install Wiikey with the quicksolder interface. However, Wiikey can still be installed by using a wired install, or quicksolder + 1 wire. We are working on the installation diagram and will upload it shortly.
Seriously though, Nintendo must be doing it on purpose. Taking the Gamecube drive's 'security' and merely changing the back door password from upper to lower case? You're 'avin a laugh.0 -
