Afternoon RD
I had two options this morning
1 - grab cereal, but lunch and get a lift to the station with hubby -This means that I would get to work about an hour early, or
2 - tell hubby to go without me, make a sandwich, eat cereal at home, walk to the station (about 20 mins), get a fast train to work and get to work with about 10 mins to spare.
So, I went for option 2 which allowed me to start the thread whilst eating breakfast.

Morning all!
Candy, thank you for starting the thread! Hope your day at work is a little less manic!
La Escocesa, thanks for the VSP explanation, sounds like a great idea, might have to try that one! I have an actual sealed pot which does work, so why have I never thought of a virtual one!
Today I will:
[STRIKE]Check banking[/STRIKE] No change
[STRIKE]Check Ebay[/STRIKE] No sales
[STRIKE]Check TopCashBack[/STRIKE] No more money
[STRIKE]Take lunch to work - lemon and basil cous cous, yum![/STRIKE] Munching away now, was a very DFW lunch I think! :money:Rather than buy packet flavoured cous cous in Mr T's I bought a plain bag for 59p, which should give me 10 portions. Today's lunch was made with the juice of half a lemon about to be chucked out, 1/4 of a veggie stock cube and some frozen basil defrosted and stirred through from my basil plant which was reduced!
Work hard - try to get 5 'little' things off my to do list and work on 1 big thing 5 little things nearly done, just waiting on other people now!
20 mins cross trainer after work - have a wedding next year and I'm determined to get rid of the arm and tummy flab!
[STRIKE]Need to buy petrol, will get minimal amount from petrol station on way to work then will go to Sainsburys after work - 1p cheaper and Nectar points [/STRIKE] Bought minimum amount - £6.90 - will top up after work
[STRIKE]Drive carefully to work - tiny sips, little car![/STRIKE]
NSD otherwise - don't go into Sainsburys!
Final 500 words of essay and try to submit - deadline tomorrow
Drink 2lts water Halfway there!
Smile lots for free boost!
Have a great day everyone!
Kx
Hi all, hope you're having a good day!
I have also had a freebie caramel slice for breakie, saving my porridge for another day, and posted my survey letters.
Ally - that sounds fun - I think I'd be too scared though!
Josie - lots of rain here too, wishing I'd stuck my plants outside last night for a minute now!
La Escocesa - ooh thanks for letting me know about the Amazon subscribe thingie - will have a nose now!
Stitching Witch - how do you find Microsoft Money, I've downloaded it but am a bit lost with it! Is it worth perservering with?
Tebheag - sorry to hear about extra burden from relatives - hopefully you enjoyed their visit though! We have family coming down on Saturday for a fortnight with three little kiddies who I love to spoil rotten, my purse is glaring at me already!
Aria's Tail - well done on paying off your loan!
WelshWoofer - I hate glossing so you have my sympathies - particularly at floor level in cramped rooms!
Nottoobadyet - I'd love to learn to ride a motorcycle but I'm so uncoordinated I think I'd fall off at every turn!
Ixia - well done on your 5p mince, the only things ever reduced in our shops are still expensive ready meals! Hope your daughter gets the results she wants!
rdchick - not my wedding (thankfully, I think, too much expense right now!) - my boyfriend's brother's wedding. It's abroad though, so watching every penny for the almost certainly expensive flights... Will be a nice holiday though!
Yargo1 - keep sparkling, although it's hard when everyone around you is grumpy!
Wannabe01 - what kind of soft toy are you making for your DD?
Right, lunchtime over nowso best get back to work!
Have a great afternoon everyone!

Hiya,
So last night I applied for another credit card....BUT this is under the advice of Martin himself!!! :money: It's the Halifax one for our holiday - I was worried we wouldn't be accepted due to being declined for a loan by my main bank a few months ago (that fortunately we didn't need in the end) but not only were we accepted, they gave us a much higher credit limit than we need! So phew, I am not a complete risk to banks anymore it would seem :rotfl: The plan is to use it for Marrakech, pay it off in full straight away & then freeze it until our honeymoon when we may need it again for cheap overseas spending
Candy - Thanks for starting us off.
La escocesa - Totally right! Hope it's not too bad for you.
Tebheag - Blimey that sounds expensive! Hope you can adjust your budget accordingly.
Aria - Well done on clearing the loan! I wish I was paid to sleep :rotfl:
NTBY - If you ever come back to the UK, or when you head to America, I want you to promise me to see some big live actsSmall acts can be fun too though! £1 for a motorbike lesson?! Yes please! I could afford it if it cost that much over here!
Rdchick/Josie - I still don't know what a purge is either
Today I have/will:-- [STRIKE]Cancelled Equifax[/STRIKE] - just in the nick of time as well! She said there would be no fees, yay.
- [STRIKE]Used freebie deodorant that I am being paid to trial[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Made use of free water/milk at work [/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Food from stores[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Check ebay[/STRIKE] - No feedback still
- [STRIKE]Check online banking[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Dinner from meal plan[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Check for surveys[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Enter comps[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Will use freebie toner as part of Tesco Home Panel[/STRIKE]
- Take a quick look at the weekend thread if I can find it
- [STRIKE]Check out Flylady thread & do some decluttering[/STRIKE]
- Go through budget again
- [STRIKE]Pop to Mr T's - stick to list![/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Pop to my parents in the same journey to try & save a bit of petrol money[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Have some cuddle time with Princess Peach (1 of our bunnies) as she seems to be off her food & I'm worried
[/STRIKE]

Thanks for your kind wishes DD2 did well she passed them all. :j 2 A's and 3Bs very proud of her. She's got an unconditional place at college so the grades didn't really matter but she is delighted because she thought she had failed her higher english and she got a B.0

Stitching Witch - how do you find Microsoft Money, I've downloaded it but am a bit lost with it! Is it worth perservering with?
Although it's an American programme it copes with the way I do my household accounts admirably, apart from the way it calculates my loan repayments which I am forever having to adjust.
It says you can use it for small businesses too, but I'd rather use Sage for my business. I'm a numbers person at the best of times so I just love it.Making magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0 -
Just remembered that I have also signed up to a free trial of Lovefilm as Martin suggested and got 2 free Cineworld tickets too
And popped to Mr T's for some cardboard boxes and managed to get a suit for work for £34:j It's really quite nice, I usually buy them from Next or M&S for 3 times that much - looks different for me too as its a skirt suit rather than the trousers I usually wear.
I've been through all of my paperwork, bills etc and made a new up to date folder with sections for everything - can you tell I'm a teacher:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Got £24 back today - took back wellies I bought for holiday but never wore - Oooh I love a bit of sunshine
And might be making a bit more than that this weekend - think I might get 6 hours overtime @ time and a half :T0
