Thursday 4th August 2011 What small DFW things will you do today????

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. :money:
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Morning Gang
I hope you don’t mind me starting the thread today – running late so eating breakfast then will walk to the station
Hello to all
Stitchy – the pork chop meal idea sounded lovely
Today I have/will do:
• Meals from stores
• NSD
• Put change in coke bottle
• Read newspapers online
• Watched a couple of things on the sky box
• Checked online banking – a couple of DD’s have gone out, so moved pennies to VSP
• Take a bottle of water on the train with me today (cheaper than buying water from the stataion)
• Charge phone up at work
• Find the cable to charge up my MP3 player at work (from the PC)
• Read freebie paper on the train
• Use railpass to get to work
• Do online comps
• Done a couple of surveys
• Drink plenty of water
• Take meds to sort out hormones
• Put washing on at 30 degrees
• Need to catch up with the thread from yesterday as it was stupidly busy at work yesterday
• Off to WW after work, will post my result on here
Think that is about it – I am sure there will be things I have forgotten.
Have a fabby one!

Hi everyone
I should really be getting ready for work - did get up an hour and a half ago and still in my jammies! The first week back after some time off is always the worst, right?!!
Here's me:- Free cuppa x 2 in work
- Take packed lunch
- Was extra cautious doing big shop last night
- Remind OH about the money he owes me...
- Buy toothbrush heads on amazon - signed up for 'subscribe and save' - you tell them you want new toothbrush heads every e.g. 3 months/6 months and you get them for a discounted rate cos they're dispatched automatically
- Ordered mum a new bin lid under guarantee - she was just going to buy one - saved her about £40. :T
- Yoga tonight - take water and walk there/back
- Bag to CS

Good morning everyone out there in DFWland. I'm glad of the rain too as I should have watered the allotment but was far too tired to walk down there last night.
So far today:- filling porridge for breakfast
- fed and watered the chickens
- looked in local paper for jobs. It's so dire here they didn't even put in a 'Vacancies' section
- checked for surveys - screened out again
- checked banking - CC transfer has now gone through :j
- updated Micr0s0ft M0ney with transfer
- found snacks to take to work
- keep an eye on surveys throughout the day
- just buy some rolls and fruit for lunch (got marg and tuna at work) and some vinegar to make chutney
- knit at lunchtime
- dinner from stores - an allotment marrow stuffed with leftover chilli
- make beetroot chutney this evening
- try to get into the sewing room tonight to make patterns for next three customers
But it's not as good a result as WW had yesterday with her mortgage :T

Morning Everyone,
I got called into work last night (my 2nd job as 24h bank care) for an overnight stay so i'm still here till 10am. I don't mind as my client generally sleeps through from 10pm till 7pm and then doesn`t get up till 9am so I get paid for being in bed!
So far this morning I have done a unit of college work.
I will:
Check for surveys.
All meals from stores (loads of food in the house, need to run down cupboards and freezers a bit).
Check throughout the day for surveys.
Walk pooches (hopefully it will stop bucketing down!)
Get listing on Ebay! (at least 5 items today, need to get back in the habit of a couple of bits a day).
Tidy up, house looks like a bomb has hit.
More college work.
I paid off my loan yesterday (borrowed some money from my house moving savings). Only 3 month early and only saved about £8 in interest but it is nice it's gone after 5 years. So that's me £150 a month more cash and now down to 2 CC. Next mission is my Barclay card, currently at £7500. The other one is 0% till April so can be ignored for now. I can throw anther £150 a month at it and anything I make off Ebay and 2nd job will be split between house fund savings and Bcard so need to get listing. also it will help declutter so less to move with!.
Hope everyone has a good day.0 -

Thanks for starting us off, candy!!
Ally, Im jealous! where are you headed?
I went to a Bon Jovi concert in London last year, Perni, but sadly most stadium acts dont make it to Kampala! I do see lots of smallish bands though so thats nice, I would love to see Iron Maiden one day!
OMG, WW!!!!!!! What an amazing result, and what a huge weight off your shoulders! You're free, I hope you enjoy it to the fullest
So the motorbike lesson was very MSE - I was so bad at it that the instructor only wanted to charge me about £1 since it was clear I would need lots more lessons :P Anyway boy got back last night a day early so was nice to spend time with him. We didnt go anywhere and made dinner at home so it was a very MSE evening.
Anywho, today:
- walked to work
- lunch provided by work
- coordinate with roommates to attempt another falafel night - om nom nom!
- buy ingredients for falafel night
- cook with boy and hopefully have guests over for cheap socializing
- check banking, CC (had to use it to book a flight this month) and update budget
Hope everyone has a good day! Nearly the weekend...Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000Debt free as of 1 October, 2010
