The discussions are running around about First Direct £25 loophole for opening an account and also about £50 from Lloyds TSB and £20 from A&L.
Possibly somebody already mentioned this, but now Citibank also offers £30 for opening an account via GreasyPalm or Rpoints or MyShopingRewards (£25 via Linemypocket). It is important that Citibank does not demand neither paying in salary, nor minimum deposit, nor regular credits.
You can also add extra £10 to usual £20 by opening A&L Premier Plus (only!) Current Account through Linemypocket or get £6 for opening Online Saver (I missed my extra £16
).
GreasyPalm and Rpoints offer extra £7.50 to Lloyd TSB’s £50.

Hi
I applied online for a Citibank Current account a couple of weeks ago - didnt see anything about this offer - ah well.
However, have just looked on their website and they seem to have changed their conditions of current account: http://www.citibank.co.uk/uk/applynow/general.jsp
It seems to be saying you have to put your salary in.

I just tried a LINK (am not sure that it will work here; it could be also a kind of referral link) from Rpoints and it leads to the Citibank website page with the following information:
Like all bright ideas, it’s surprisingly simple
Simple isn’t a word you’d usually associate with a bank account. But that’s exactly what makes the Citibank Direct Current Account different.
It’s easy to manage and offers a competitive interest rate of 4.59% AER (4.50% gross), with no catches and no strings attached. All of which makes it easy to earn money too. Simple.
Easy to manage
Dealing with your bank shouldn’t be difficult, but it often is. Whenever possible, we’ll take the hassle out of managing your money, whether that’s by transferring your standing orders for you or just by offering an efficient, personal service.
Simply the best
At 4.59% AER (4.50% gross), not only do we offer one of the best current account interest rates in the market, but our rate is better than many savings accounts too. Comparison Table.
Just an everyday thing
You earn the same great rate on any balance you have in your account, whether it’s £1 or £100,000. As interest is calculated daily, you can be sure that you’re earning something every day.
Your terms and conditions, not ours
You manage the account on your terms, not ours. We’re not looking for any commitment from you upfront - there’s no minimum deposit required and you don’t need to give us your salary every month....
Minimum annual income of £15,000 required to open a Citibank Direct Current Account. Your salary does not have to be deposited monthly with Citibank.
