Santander Preferred Current Account.

Agree with 10_66. I also do this, and am just getting a couple more direct debits into my 'spare' current account, so I can go for the First Direct account. Frankly, the Santander switch wasn't so much of a problem. Just one direct debit wouldn't go through and this was an odd little amount for the leisure club lottery of my old company. I am now waiting for another dd to go through and then hope for the £100 (the Quidco £45 paid at the beginning of this month) after 3 months. Am also keeping this for the £2500 savings at 5%. Loving that with all my S&S Isa's collapsing....
It does mean, however, that I am having to switch £500 into the Santander account, then out again, and then in/out. A bit of bother, but worth it for the £145 (sic) tax-free!0 -
I've today opened my 2nd preferred account and it was showing online within 15 minutes. TCB tracked too, so that's another FREE £55.55p !
Tomorrow's earner will be £125 with a First Direct account which will hardly be used.
Happy days !
Now to get some wine from TESCO for less than £1.30 per bottle with the use of Quidco and Tesco current 25% off offer !0 -
Santander is now in the process of transferring all dd's and the standing orders have already been transferred and salary also to be paid in.
I just hope that they will not hold it against me for not closing my Halifax account which gives £5 a month for other credits and money transfers.Return and Restart August 2016

You don't need to worry about that, closing the Halifax is not part of their terms for the £100 cashback, they'd just like you to so there's no competition.0 -
Thanks 10_66 (loving the user name)
If it goes well I just may swallow my words and write them an apology letter;):rotfl:Return and Restart August 2016
