They do send a letter one month before the contract is up in order to prompt you to call and ask for a better deal/stay on with the £3 discount. If you haven't received the letter I would still call and see what loyalty deal they can offer you as an existing customer.
The best thing to do is ask nicely and let them know that you are obviously shopping around if you can't get a similar deal. I'm sure you will get what you are looking for
