foolishly paid 2 standing orders into a bank account, i entered the wrong account number.
the bank it went to said it went into someones account,
is there any way of claiming the money back? or is it my fault for paying it to the wrong person??

Apparently the person you sent the money to has to consent to paying it back. Fortunately when I made this error, I knew the person and they consented and followed the procedure.....even then it was a nightmare of chasing an took 5 months!0

no dont know the person and the bank has had no consent from them
is it worth taking them to court etc? its was £6000 -
You will need to ask your bank to contact the other on your behalf and ask for the funds to be returned to you.
However your bank may not want to get involved in that case you would need to contact them yourself.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

Write to the payee's bank telling them what you've done and asking that they pass on this letter to their customer. With a bit of luck they'll agree for their bank to take the funds and return them to you.0 -

you gave the money away, how can you go to court..... as posted above, the person has to consent to giving it back.... so you may hope you aint paid it to a low life benefit scrounging druggie!!!
it is strange because if the bank xfers the money into your account and you spend its theft, as you know the money isnt yours, but when a customer xfers money into another customers account,... well thats different!! how i dont know!Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0
