Broadband but what about email

Hi, my friend has just got her Talktalk broadband up and running. She was with Tiscali and would like to know if she can keep her Tiscali email address. If so, how do we configure her OExpress to send/receive Tiscali emails.

Thanks.

I know you can, or at least could, keep your BT mail addesss if you leave BT broadband. I believe it costs about £1.50 a month.

Use Tools>Accounts>Properties in Outlook to set it up.

Thanks but doesn't really help me. She wants to add her Tiscali email to OE on Talktalk broadband.

She can do, but its a service Id imagine she will have to pay for as she no longer uses Tiscali broadband.

This is how she should setup Outlook.

I doubt it will work though, as Tiscali dont hand out free mail facilities, as far as I know.

I've left her now, but at home on my Wanadoo broadband I have been able to log into Tiscali and set up an email. I have configured OE to the new email address but I keep getting the password error, even thought it is correct. Not sure if this means something is not set correctly or if, like you say, Tiscali will not let me import their address into Outlook Express.

Double-check the username. Sometimes it just needs to be 'myusername', other times the full 'myusername@tiscali.co.uk' depending which email client you use.

Tried that, seems it needs to be the whole email address.

I used to have a Tiscali email , about 3 years ago I think it was , not been used since and it just let me log in so there is a chance you friend will be able to carry on using their old email address

Thanks, I can log in from their homepage, but it will not allow me to configure OE to log into emails without going through their homepage.

I just typed out a reply, then the forum crashed.

I had a look at Google.

Google for "keep tiscali email address.

    1.

    2.

    3.

It would appear that the idea is to switch to Tiscali Pay-as-you-go but not to use the dial up service. Alternatively, Id mail Tiscali and ask if they do a mail only service.
