Advice please on resurfacing old cast iron bath

Hello
I am after advice on re-surfacing a very old cast iron bath. The bath has been previously painted with a poor quality product which is peeling , revealling a darker enamel underneath.
I can not get the bath out of the house as I live in an old farmhouse with spiral stone stairs and is too big/heavy to fit down them. The bath is free standing and is supposed to be from about 1840. I am remodelling the bath room but want to keep the bath as it is a lovely one.
Can anyone recommend a diy product that is good quality and lasts? Alternatively a professional who comes recommended and who covers South Wales. I would rather pay for the good result rather than have a false economy via the DIY route and need to paint it again.
Hope someone can give me some pointers. Any professionals out there I can take a pic of the bath and send it to you. Thanks

With such a nice old bath and the fact its been DIYed before, it ight be worth paying out and getting it professionally re-enamalled.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

I got one re-enamelled professionally few years ago. Was no cheaper than replacing the bath, but I didn't wwant the hassle of replacing.
The guy who did the re-enamelling did a FANTASTIC job. Absolutely looked brand new. I'd highly recommend
Sorry, I'm nowhere near you though I'm in Essex0
