satinwood or gloss for skirting?

I'm priming the new skirting boards, ready to paint them, and wondering if I can use satinwood, or is gloss more correct? We are going to have engineered oak flooring, I'm not a massive fan of very shiny shiny. The walls are going to be Crown kitchen and bathroom oxygen (which is a pale greeny colour & mid sheen) and cupboards a pale yellow/cream/off white

Thanks

Personally, I prefer Satinwood. Its as durable and robust as gloss, its not highly shiny and doesn't yellow.

satinwood is very popular atm , dulux water based version is v good , dries quickly , easy to use and doesn't smell too bad
  • I like Gloss.

Satinwood is just classy, lovely finish and durable.

I hate gloss, it's harsh and loses it's shine in time.

personally I use eggshell for woodwork - just love the way it looks. But if had to choose gloss or satinwood, it would be satinwood

Have just remembered I have a tin of dulux trade eggshell somewhere-but its at least 4 years old-would that be OK or should I get a new one? I also have a door to paint

you may be lucky , open it up , if it has skinned over carefully remove the skin, give it a stir and try it out , if it's full of bits of gone off colour or if you've stored it unprotected in a shed over winter then get a new tin , otherwise it should be fine ,
