Moved house, same supplier - can i change?

Ive just recently moved addresses.

MY previous property has gas and electric by NPower. The new property has gas by British Gas and electric by NPower so i had arranged for NPower to provide gas and electric at my new property.

After looking around i now want to switch. DOes anyone know if i need to stay with NPower for any period of time before i can move? IS there normally or because i was with them before would i be ok to switch?

There is no tie in period for the majority of tariffs.

The only exceptions are some of the older fixed/capped tariffs(like BG fixed to 2010) where there is a penalty for leaving early; not that anyone would want to!!

Some tariffs have a bonus/discount paid after 12 months so you lose that if you leave early.

You need to wait for the current switch to go through before you can put through another - provided your start date with Npower has passed there shouldn't be a problem switching, except in situations like the one Cardew mentioned above. It usually takes 28-36 days for a switch to go through.
