You beat me to it Linz.....Lidls Christmas puddings were £2.49p, now £1.99 and last year in late January 40pence.
Same with Stollen cakes. They last the year.

been into both M&S and waitrose today to take my own advice :D

Canary wharf M&S, puds we 2.99 now 75p, much the same in waitrose, although they had a lot of duchy originals and organics which were slighly more expensive and some mini pannetones ( dont think they would last long, certainly not in my house!)
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • Exterior Paint.
Many big stores like B&Q sell it cheaper now than in the summer.
The same goes for stuff like fence or shed paint.

  • Look out for reduced boxes or tins of chocolates. If the sell by dates are ok they make great gifts for Easter (I refuse to spend lots of money on eggs when you pay mostly for useless packaging).

  • Anything Christmas wrapped . . . Tesco have a package of HP digital camera (5 megapixels) AND photo printer for £59.95. It has a Christmas 'sleeve' on the pack. Apparently it was £90 in Argos and the original price was £179.95. Don't know how much memory is in the camera, but may be still a bargain if you have to buy a memory card.
See the Boots thread also but they still have masses of gift sets which should go down in the next week.

Pumpkins is another one.....cost the earth up to Halloween, then 10p each afterwards. Great for soup.
  • Buy barbeques in Autumn. We bought a £100 Debenhams barB for £30 in October - now we just have to make sure our first house has a garden!

i was going to post about chocolate to save for easter but was beaten to it :D i would also buy it for valentines day too, that's around 6 weeks after xmas :T

there will also be choccy and gift sets in sales that are suitable for mothers day in march.

i also buy toys in the jan sales (and any other time they are cheap) for birthday pressies during the year. i have a pressie box with random stuff in it too, not intended for specific people because my children might be invited to parties at school etc. hair clips etc.

some christmas wrapping paper (or gift bags) is plain and not covered in reindeer, it can be used all year round as birthday wrap and is much cheaper - also you get cheaper packs of plain gift tags at christmas time.
