best time to buy easyjet flights?

is there a best time to buy easy jet flights? we normally fly gatwick to montpellier with easy jet each year. is it always a case of the earlier the better? do they have sales? does the price ever go down? we're flying in june. family of five- two adults, two children, one infant. so even a small reduction per person makes a big difference.

thank you for any help

  • I think the price goes up gradually as you get nearer to the time. But Ive always wondered myself, so Im interested to know this too.

Easyjet regularly have sales, and in my experience with them, unless you are flying with them in peak times, it can be worth waiting for a sale. If you're flying at peak holiday times, its best to book the flights as soon as you can once they are released.

Prices are flexible by the minute depending on supply/demand. If you see a price that's acceptable to you then book it and stop watching.

Only real 'saving' you'll get is via Nectar points

EasyJet 'sales' don't reduce the price a lot or, in many cases at all. If you are booking a summer holiday route it is usually cheapest to book as soon as the flights are released.

I would imagine that in theory there is perhaps a "Golden" window of opportunity. By that I mean how close to take off will the budget airlines consider a flight closed to purchasers irrespective if a flight is full or not? I now wonder how responsive the computer systems are.

Try booking an easyJet or Ryanair flight on the day of departure and you'll find the prices are at their highest.
